Halloween bark is a festive and fun treat perfect for the spooky season. This colorful confection typically consists of a base of melted chocolate—dark, milk, or white—spread out on a baking sheet. It’s then generously topped with an assortment of Halloween-themed goodies, such as candy corn, gummy worms, sprinkles, and mini chocolate candies. Once cooled and hardened, the bark is broken into irregular pieces, showcasing a vibrant mix of colors and textures. The combination of sweet chocolate and playful toppings makes Halloween bark a delightful, shareable snack that captures the spirit of the holiday!
Ingredients
-
8 oz chocolate bars or candy melts (milk, dark or white)
-
Green cocoa butter powder, for chocolate coloring
-
festive Halloween candy such as eyeball sprinkles, kit kats, m&m’s, pretzels, colored sprinkles, candy corn, etc.
Directions
Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat. Set aside.
Melt the chocolate. You can melt it in a double boiler or the microwave. If using the microwave: place the chopped chocolate in a medium heat-proof bowl. Melt in 20 second increments in the microwave, stopping and stirring after each increment until completely melted and smooth.
Pour the chocolate onto the prepared baking sheet and spread out into a large rectangle (anywhere around 8×12 inches is great). Decorate the top of the bark with candies.
Allow the chocolate to completely set uncovered at room temperature or in the refrigerator, about 45 minutes. Once hardened, break into pieces as large or small as you want.
Store bark in an airtight container at room temperature in a cool, dry place for up to 1 week or in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
